Branches of State Government
Branches of State Government lesson uses Trading Cards that emphasize the roles and 
responsibilities for each branch of the Texas State Government. In this Social Studies Skill Builder, students carefully read information from the Texas history textbook describing the duties of the three branches of state government. Students will analyze 24 “cards” describing various powers of the three branches of state government and then categorize the information according to the branch. For the processing activity, students will answer questions, then complete an acrostic exercise using the letters of the word government.
